The Soldier by Erik - 5th Grade The soldier of the U.S. stands with his gun at his side. with a whisper-like shout, his gun is raised, Hiding from the enemy. His gun fires like an ear-cracking war-cry into the night. The shot is heard by a nearby troop. He comes running like an olympic racer. He stops, and falls to the ground like a thief hiding from the law. Guns crack like thunder and war-cries Until the enemy is retreating Like a mouse from a cat. |
The Lively Trees by Matthew - 5th Grade As they reach for the stars and the heavens, They share with us knowledge of decades past. Bending the wind, it makes a echoing, whistling tune. Till it rests in a winter sleep. Their aged boughs have sheltered us From the harshest of storms And, as each year passes, It's mind wisens, grows, and lives on, Stronger than it ever was before. |
