Welcome to my classroom!

Thank you for taking the time to visit and I hope you have a chance to check out some pictures and videos that give a small glimpse into the world of my students. 

My name is Laura Atwater and I am the Early Childhood Director and one of the Junior Kindergarten teachers.  I am from Cheney, Kansas and attended Butler County Community College and Emporia State University. I have a Bachelors in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and a Masters in Instructional Design and Technology.  I also coach the throwing events and Bishop Carroll High School and I am currently working towards continuing my education through the University of Kansas. I have an older sister, an older brother, 6 nephews and two nieces. 

My classroom is filled with the love of learning and hands-on activities and individualized education. Here at Wichita Friends School we believe that every child is to be honored and we foster the character traits of taught simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality and stewardship. Our class motto is,
“Just because you are small, does not mean you can’t do BIG things!”  Please take a few minutes and take a tour through my classroom.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
