Covid-Preparedness at Wichita Friends School

Wichita Friends School follows Sedgwick County, Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines to establish best practices for a COVID-prepared environment for our children and staff.  We are fortunate to have adequate space for safe distancing indoors, and a variety of outdoor areas for both play and class settings.

In September 2021 we installed an iWave Air Purifier system that continually "scrubs" all air in the building.  This scrubbing process removes 93% of viral pathogens, including Covid-19.

To reduce potential viral contamination coming into our school building, we do not use community drinking fountains or a vendor for lunch preparation.  Children bring water bottles (filled with a non-sugary liquid) and healthy packed lunches from home.  WFS provides healthy snacks each morning and afternoon prepared by our staff in our kitchen.

Your child’s health and safety are a top priority for us.   If you have questions or concerns, please be in touch with Shelly Hoffman, Head of School, 316-729-0303 or via the "Contact Us" button below.
