Marketing Musings from Ms. Julie

Hello, Parents and Friends!  I am Ms. Julie and I have loved being a part of our Wichita Friends School family since 2019.  I have been a full-time paraprofessional, and am now serving as a part-time para and part-time administrative assistant to Dr. Shelly Hoffman, our Head of School.  I have also been named to the WFS Marketing Committee, and am excited about sharing the wonderful joy of WFS with a wider public.  I have one more role at WFS – parent!  My daughter Lilly is in Ms. Cathy’s Pre-K room this year.  We both LOVE Wichita Friends School!

We currently have 37 children enrolled.  We would love to bring our number up to 45 or 50.  By using our upstairs classrooms for Elementary classes we have physical space to easily support up to 60 children, while retaining small class sizes with a 12:1 maximum student-teacher ratio.

I would like to wear my “marketing committee hat” now.  Our two most effective marketing strategies are (1) using social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Tic Tok) and (2) word-of-mouth from parents, grandparents, supporters, and friends. 

In addition to being an effective marketing tool, our social media presence builds community.  Our extended social media community includes donors, former parents, former grandparents, Quaker friends, public educator friends as well as our current family of parents, grandparents, great-grands, aunts and uncles.  I love keeping our extended community informed of our children’s achievements and what is happening at WFS with Facebook and Instagram posts.

One of the simplest and most impactful ways you can support WFS is by engaging with and sharing our social media posts.  Your involvement really does make a difference!

1. Follow Us: on our official pages - Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok.

2. Like and Comment: Interacting with our posts helps us reach more people.

3. Share Our Content: When you share our posts, you help spread the word about our school. This is a huge help with recruiting.  Remember – we have open enrollment year-round!

4. Tag Friends and Family: Do you know someone who might be interested in WFS?  Tag them with our posts! You can also tag WFS with your posts.  Building community!

5. Reviews: Please take a minute or two to leave us a review on both Google and our Facebook Page!  Having good reviews “out there” helps us grow in both local reputation and in our public relations to potential WFS families.
